Where’d You Get That Ugly Mug?

The answer is The Ugly Mug Coffee House at 103 Knox Street in Barbourville that just opened its doors last Friday, Nov. 14. According to the owners, Kim and Chad Wagner, they have been kept busy from the start up.

Kim Wagner isn’t complaining though, “I have always wanted to be a part of a coffee shop, and I love live acoustic music. Now the Ugly Mug offers both and we couldn’t be happier.”

Store hours are as follows:

Monday through Thursday: 7:30 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Fridays hours will be the same unless they have live music, then it will remain open until 9 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Live music will keep it open until 9 p.m.
Sunday: closed

Wagner said, “The menu will be mostly baked goods in the morning, unless we decide that day to cook something else. Lunch is served from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. We will have various sandwich and soup combinations to choose from. If you want something special, we can cover most items. If you are looking for a place to get out of the cold and enjoy a tasty warm drink, please come and see us.”

Kim added that during the holidays, “On Saturdays, we will have a different guest reading Christmas stories for the public, so be sure to bring your kids.”

Friday night, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m., Andy Messer from Union College will be entertaining by singing with live acoustic guitar music.

Wagner said, “All of our information will be on our Facebook page. The page will list who will be our next live performer and the times we will be showcasing them. Just click on Facebook and find The Ugly Mug Coffee LLC, or call us anytime (606) 689-3210.”
