Accused murderer released on bond

At approximately 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) the Knox County Circuit Court Clerk’s office confirmed that Patrick Baker has been released from the Knox County Detention Center on a $500,000 cash bond.

Baker, along with Elijah Messer, Stephanie Smith, Angela Mills and Christopher Wagers are all charged in the shooting death of Donald Mills on May 9 at his residence on Salt Gum Hollow Road at Stinking Creek.

Baker’s four co-defendants continue to remain incarcerated in the area: Elijah Messer in Harlan County, Stephanie G. Smith in Leslie County, Angela Mills-Brown in Laurel County, Christopher Bradley Wagers also in Laurel County.

All five accused are due back in court on Dec. 5 at 1 p.m.
