Draw your bows! M.B.K. Outdoors and Barbourville Tourism have teamed up to host an archery tournament.
Shooters, ages eight and up, are invited to partake in the first 3-D Archery Classic at Thompson RV Park Saturday, July 16. Registration begins at 9 a.m. the morning of the competition and will cost a mere $15 per shooter. All proceeds from the event will go to Knox Central High School and Union College’s Archery teams.
A total of five classes will be available; Youth (ages 8-15), Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Men’s Bow Hunter and Women’s Bow Hunter. The top three shooters in each class will receive a plaque for their achievements.
The tournament will be part of a series of Adventure Tourism events hosted by Barbourville Tourism, a growing list that includes the annual Cumberland River Challenge.
“Barbourville Tourism is excited to add one more event to out list of events,” said Denise Wainscot, Director of Tourism. “We look forward to having more events of this nature.”
Vendors such as Grateful Ed’s BBQ and Crave Gourmet Shaved Ice are also scheduled to attend to feed the hungry crowd.
“We are very excited for this tournament,” said Jeff Fisher, Founder of M.B.K. Outdoors. “We have some great vendors coming to the event and we’re looking forward to the community coming out to support local archery.”
