Scott Jay Harris Obituary

Barbourville, Ky. – Scott Jay Harris, 62, of Bryant’s Store, Kentucky passed away April 21, 2025. Scott was the son of Paul Harris and Mary Lee Harris born to them June 12, 1962, in Detroit, Michigan. 

Scott was a kind man who loved his family immensely, especially his dear grandchildren.  On Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1982, Scott united in marriage to Florence Mae Honeycutt and to this union three children were born.  Scott worked for Williamsburg Plastics as a welder.  In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising chickens, and playing video games on his PlayStation.  Scott will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Scott is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years Florence Mae Honeycutt Harris, son Jordy Harris, daughter Wendy Rivchin (Andrew), and brothers Larry Harris (Sherry), Rex Harris, and John Pasternak.  Three cherished grandchildren, Erik Bryden, Rian Harris, and Ryker Harris, also survive Scott and will miss him dearly.  Scott was preceded in death by his son Corey Harris and his parents Paul and Mary Harris.

Family and friends are planning to meet to share a meal and remembrances of Scott on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 3:00 PM at David’s Steak House, 125 West Cumberland Gap Parkway, Corbin, Kentucky 40701. Following dinner, family and friends are invited to gather at the Harris’s home at 80 Rimrock Lane, Bryant’s Store, Kentucky 40921.
