“We don’t want parents to panic,” said Claudia Greenwood, Chair of Knox Operation UNITE.
Police cars and fire trucks and ambulances with lights flashing converging on Barbourville City School is normally not a good thing. But, when it happens next Thursday, March 10, it is part of an educational “Mock Accident” drill. In cooperation with Operation UNITE, local police, fire departments, the hospital, and several other groups, the school will be conducting a UK Extension Service “Truth and Consequences” program at the city school. The event will last from 9 a.m. until noon, next Thursday. Students will learn about the real life consequences of different decisions they could choose to make.
