Bones fractured in alleged assault during robbery

An attempted armed robbery Saturday night at Long John Silver’s left one woman with multiple fractured bones and a man behind bars.

On May 19 around 10:30 p.m., the Barbourville Police Department responded to Long John Silver’s restaurant for an attempted robbery. According to an arrest citation, Daniel Patterson, 39, of Cannon, “entered the restaurant by force at the back door and demanded money.” He was armed with a lug wrench.

While nothing was taken from the restaurant, one unidentified employee was injured. The victim went to Barbourville ARH Hospital where she was diagnosed with a fractured tibia and ankle.
