A local artist is making big waves in the music industry. Clay County native Anthony Jones was recently featured in Barbourville Tourism’s weekly Brown Bag Special concert series.
Jones’ passion for music started at an early age. “I’ve been playing since I was eight years old,” he said. “I started playing music in church; my mother actually sat me down and taught me my first three chords on guitar.”
Jones says his style of music is anywhere from traditional up to today’s country music, with a touch of Bluegrass.
“We recently finished up an acoustic, unplugged album, but we’re getting ready to start a full production in Nashville,” said Jones.
Represented by Perry Music Group, Jones is quickly gaining popularity; even making his debut at The Grand Ole Opry earlier this month.
“That was once in a lifetime, it’s just one of those feeling that I could never describe, it’s really out there,” said Jones. “It was absolutely great.”
