Bulldogs picked fourth in AAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll

The Union College baseball team is picked to finish fourth according to the 2015 Appalachian Athletic Conference Coaches’ Preseason Poll, which was released late Wednesday evening.

Headlining the poll is defending AAC Regular Season Champion Tennessee Wesleyan, who received six of 10 first place votes and 88 points overall. Bryan, which won the AAC Tournament in 2014, collected two first place votes and 75 total points to take the second spot. Reinhardt is third with 57 points and the remaining two first-place tallies.

Following the Eagles are the Bullldogs in the poll, who garnered 53 total points. Rounding out the rankings are: Point (48), Milligan (44), St. Andrews (34), Bluefield (27), Montreat (21) and Truett-McConnell (12).

Union, who went 34-20 last season, 17-10 in the AAC, will once again be led into the season by head coach Bart Osborne, who enters his 12th season at the helm of the Bulldog program in 2015. The program’s top individual returnee is infielder Nelson Price (SR/Burkesville, Ky.), who was an All-AAC Selection last season after hitting a .349, with 10 home runs and 49 RBI. All three marks led Union on the year.

The Bulldogs will begin their 2014 regular season in early February. For more on the Union College baseball program, stay with the official home of the Union athletics, GoUnionBulldogs.com.
