Burglar sought

Corbin Police are seeking the public’s help to find the person or persons who broke into Shoe Show in the Trademart Shopping Center Saturday, Dec. 3.

Corbin Police Major Rob Jones, the department’s public affairs officer, said the burglar(s) smashed out the glass on the front door to get inside the store.

“Whatever they used, they took it with them,” Jones said

Once inside, the burglar(s) pried open the register and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The burglary was discovered by someone passing the store about 8 a.m. Sunday and called in to police.

Jones said the store’s alarm system and video surveillance had been disabled because of construction at the store.

Jones added there is no indication this burglary is connected to a similar incident at Forest Lanes bowling alley in December or several other similar burglaries in the area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Corbin Police at 528-1122. Callers may remain anonymous.
