A suspect is behind bars for allegedly robbing Cope’s Country Store early Thursday morning. According to police, the alleged burglar had a “selfie” on his phone wearing the mask he used in the burglary.
Sheriff John Pickard, Chief Deputy Derek Eubanks, and Det. Kelley Farris located the suspect, along with most of the merchandise taken during the burglary, including guns, cigarettes, and other items.
Kevin Lawson, 28, of Gray, has been charged with first-degree burglary and first-degree criminal mischief.
Police say Lawson used a pair of gloves during the break-in to avoid leaving fingerprints, but police located the gloves in a neighbors yard.
Lawson is currently lodged in the Knox Detention Center with no bond set.
