City School announces working budget

Barbourville City School Board held a special meeting Friday, Sept. 25., at which a working budget was adopted. The 2015-2016 budget is $6,250,229 and includes a two percent salary increase for all staff members.

Although the new budget is slightly over last year’s, it doesn’t leave much wiggle room for the school board.

“Its going to be a tight budget,” explained Superintendent Larry Warren, “due to legislation not fully funding public education.”
