There will be a Memorial Day Service at the Barbourville Cemetery on Monday, May 26 at 11 a.m. The Boy Scouts of America Troop #529 will be the Color Guard. Rev. Leonard Lester, pastor of the First Advent Christian Church will give the invocation.
The Barbourville Community Chorus will sing patriotic songs. Master of Ceremonies will be Colonel John Knox Mills. The guest speaker will be Colonel Brian Wertzler, commander of the 138th Fires Brigade of the Kentucky Army National Guard. There will be a 21-gun salute by the 138th Fires Brigade of the Kentucky Army National Guard.
The raising and lowering of the flag , the playing of taps, and the firing of the cannon will conclude
the service. Representatives of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the American Legion will be in attendance.
