Fiscal Court announced Wednesday, Sept. 23, that the 2015-2016 yearly budget will be increased.
“Due to carryovers from last year,” explained Judge Executive J.M. Hall. “We need to amend the budget to include those figures.”
The general funds will gain an additional $1,138,495.11, road funds will be increased by $80,381.17 and the occupational license budget will get an extra $27,441.55 making the total increase $1,246,317.83.
Other topics covered were:
• Knox County attorney’s office collected $52,499.72 in delinquent taxes.
• Knox County courthouse will be closed Friday, Oct. 9, due to the Daniel Boone Festival.
• Fright Night on the square is scheduled for 5:20-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29.
• County-wide trick-or-treat is scheduled for 5:30-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31.
