Couple facing drug charges

An Artemus couple were arrested Friday on drug-related charges.

According to Kentucky State Police PIO Shane Jacobs, at around 9:30 a.m. Friday Trooper Jake Wilson responded to a residence on York Hollow after receiving information that drug activity was taking place at the home.

Tpr. Wilson made contact with the owners, Scotty and Tammy Smith. During the investigation Tpr. Wilson and sheriff’s deputies located methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and several different types of pills inside the house.

Scotty Smith, 44, and Tammy Smith, 38, from Artemus were arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree 1stoffence (methamphetamine), Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rddegree, drug paraphernalia, and prescription not in proper container.

Both are lodged in the Knox County Detention Center. Case is still under investigation by Trooper Jake Wilson.
