Dewitt celebrates armed forces and family fun

Despite the rain, the show is going on at Dewitt Elementary today, May 19, for the Family Fun and Armed Forces Day Celebration. Along with honoring those who have and continue to serve, the event offers a wide array of vendors, each with goodies or information to give out to the public. This includes free books, clothes and food. There are also activities for kids of all ages, including face painting and a slime station.

This event will continue until 1 p.m. and everyone is welcome to join the fun. For the complete story, see next week’s edition of The Mountain Advocate. Photos by Tasha Stewart.
