Fine Arts Association begins season of music

The Fine Arts Association of Southeastern Kentucky, Inc. has announced its list of programs for the 2015-2016 season.

Aug. 29 – The Diamonds and Let’s Hang On, will be at Corbin High School. With tight vocal harmonies of the 1950s, The Diamonds pay tribute to Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, The Jersey Boys.

Oct. 24 – Jason Coleman, the grandson of Floyd Cramer, carries on his grandfather’s legacy with The Piano Magic of Floyd Cramer; Floyd was inducted into both the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. His concert will be at the University of the Cumberlands Gatliff Building.

Nov. 28 – Tommy Emmanuel will perform a Special Christmas Show featuring Tommy’s virtuosic guitar brilliance at the First Baptist Church in London.

Feb. 20 – Don Giovanni, the Mozart masterpiece, sung in English, is a two-act story based on the legends of Don Juan, full of comedy and drama presented by Peach State Opera at Corbin High School.

March 5 – Pastiche Chamber Ensemble, a quartet of virtuosos on trumpet, clarinet, piano, and percussion, “characterized by precision, delicacy, and superb ensemble, . . .” will perform at Union College’s Conway Boatman Chapel.

April 23 – Southern Stars Symphonic Brass Band, led by Dr. Steven Sudduth, is a 30-piece professional brass ensemble performing a wide variety of music including marches, pop tunes, movie music, and arrangements of popular classic tunes. It will be at the University of the Cumberlands Rollins Center.

Each program begins at 7:30 p.m.

Since Union College is a corporate sponsor of the Fine Arts Association each faculty and staff member and each student may attend any of these programs simply by presenting a Union College identification card at the door of the event. Family members or other relatives and friends must purchase individual or season tickets.

Prices for season tickets are: Adults–$75, Students–$15, Family (includes two adult and three student season tickets)–$185. Season tickets are now on sale and may be purchased by sending a check to:
