Fishermen take home trophies, cash in UNITE Fishing Tournament

The 13th annual Knox County UNITE Fishing Tournament took place Saturday, April 21 at Laurel Lake’s Grove Marina.

Coming away with first place was Michael House and Jerry House, who took home not only a first place trophy donated by Edith Hampton in memory of Doug and Troy Hampton, but the pair went home $1,800 richer. Second place went to David Goodin and Noah Hopper, who took home $1,000. Cash prizes were awarded to each place up to 12th place, and for Big Small Mouth, Big Large Mouth and Big Trash Fish.

Contestants were not permitted to fish at the lake for five days prior to the tournament. They were also treated to a Pre-Tournament Cookout on Friday, April 20 at Tracker Boat Center in Corbin.
