Flat Lick man gets 20 years for murder

The man accused of the May 4, 2016 murder of Shane Mills has pled guilty in court and been sentenced.

On March 5, Richard Brown, 48, of Flat Lick, withdrew his plea of not guilty and entered a plea of guilty for murder, count one. Brown then appeared in the Knox County Circuit Court on April 6 for formal sentencing.

According to court documents, Brown was sentenced to imprisonment for a maximum term of 20 years and one day, to serve in the State Penitentiary.
