Four individuals were arrested Sunday after the Knox County Sheriff’s Office found suspected methamphetamine at a Happy Lane home.
On April 9, Knox County Deputy Claude Hudson responded to the residence after receiving drug trafficking complaints. When Deputy Hudson knocked on the front door, he observed a female, later identified as Betty Smith, 38, of Barbourville, open the curtain and look at him. She immediately closed the curtain back and refused to open the door.
Deputy Hudson then walked to the back of the residence where he became involved in a foot pursuit of Daniel Phipps, 51, of Barbourville, who ran out of the back door. After apprehending Phipps and placing him in the back of the cruiser, Deputy Hudson returned to the front door where he encountered Dana Miller, 50, of Flat Lick, and Walter Young, 38, of Nashville, Tn.
