The Golden Family Reunion will hold its 22nd annual gathering on Friday, April 27.
The family has traced its lineage going all the way back to 1725. The reunion will see many of those decendents gathering to join in the celebration, coming from all across the nation. The decendents have been traced back to the Wilkes/Lincoln County area of Georgia, with families scattered into Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Alabama, Indiana, Illinois, and Texas. Those having ties to the Golden family from those areas are encouraged to join in the festivities.
Reunion-goers will gather at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 27 at the Cumberland Inn in Williamsburg, and then on Saturday at family cemetery at Golden Creek, on the original homelands of Stephen Golden and Hannah Helms.
