In an exclusive interview with the Mountain Advocate this morning, Governor Matt Bevin addressed those in Frankfort and elsewhere protesting against his plan to fix Kentucky’s pension problem.
He also had strong comments for house minority floor leader “Rocky” Adkins, explained why some teachers can’t get social security benefits they earned, and warned that next year in the state legislature, “Budgeting is going to be brutal.”
Perhaps most importantly, the Governor said he “Absolutely” has the votes needed to pass the plan into law, and promised he and legislative leaders will fix Kentucky’s multi-billion pension problem during a special session he will be calling “soon.”
“We’ll get this done,” the Governor said.
