A gray woman was detained Wednesday afternoon New Year’s Eve for alleged shoplifting at the Corbin Wal-Mart.
Officials say Heather McQueen, 31, of Gray, was held by the store’s loss prevention team after she was allegedly observed concealing multiple items in the self checkout lane. When Laurel County Deputy Kevin Berry arrived on the scene, he reported McQueen appeared to be under the influence.
During the ensuing investigation, the Officer Berry reportedly found McQueen to be possession of pills for which she did not have a prescription. He also learned she had previously signed a trespass notice on Dec. 26, 2012, to not be back on the premises.
McQueen was arrested and charged with public intoxication, shoplifting, criminal trespassing, possession of a controlled substance and possession of prescription controlled substances not in their proper container.
McQueen was lodged in the Laurel County Correction Center.
