The Knox Central Panthers were well represented at the annual East-West All-Star Baseball game this year for Kentucky. Seth Hill was selected to the sophomore all-star team by coaches from around the 13th Region and Hunter McRight represented the region for juniors.
Hill pitched one inning for the East Team in the first game and recorded a 3-up-3-down inning and picked off a runner at first base.
McRight represented the Panthers by playing three innings in right field and six innings as catcher for the junior all-star team.
The games were held at Pleasure Ridge Park High School in Louisville last week and each team consisted of 50 players per grade. The baseball players started with a showcase in front of numerous college and pro scouts. Events they participated in included a timed 60 yard dash, a throwing drill from their position and batting drills.
The highlight of the event was a double-header game between all-stars from the eastern part of Kentucky taking on all-stars from western Kentucky.
