A recent push to boost Kentucky’s minimum wage is drawing mixed feelings from local leaders.
The Kentucky House of Representatives Friday passed a bill that would raise the state’s minimum wage to $10.10 per hour.
Now House Bill 1 will go to the Senate.
The vote tally was 54 in favor and 44 against.
The last minimum wage hike was in 2007 when the rate went from $5.85 to the current $7.25.Register to read more...

Citizens of Barbourville will soon have the chance to express their comments and concerns about the recent city audit in a public forum.
At Thursday night’s Barbourville City Council meeting, council members were read a letter from acting City Attorney Charley Greene Dixon that touched on the audit.
In the letter, Dixon requested that a special council meeting be held to address the 28 issues raised by the audit.
“I am pleased to inform the council that the audit does not address missing funds, which has made the process much easier,” Dixon’s letter also stated.Register to read more...

Knox officials have taken another step to refinance the hospital's $23 million debt. They are seeking grant funds from the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture).
Now, all they can do is wait.
