WKU men’s golf head coach Phillip Hatchett has announced the signing of Kyle Jeffers, the Kentucky Junior Golfer of the Year in 2015, who will join the program next fall.

Jeffers, who competes for North Laurel High School in London, Ky., is a fully exempt player on the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) tour and posted a 71.93 stroke average in his last full season on the circuit.

“I am very excited to add Kyle to our team. He is a strong player with lots of experience in national tournaments,” Hatchett said of the signee. “He will be a force in collegiate golf and for us as a Hilltopper.”

In addition to his talents on the course, Jeffers is a strong student in the classroom, compiling a 3.97 GPA thus far in high school.

Jeffers is the son of Steve and Loretta Jeffers, and the grandson of Roy and Daisy Jeffers and David and Geneva Smith.
