Jeraldine Cox Hanner, age 75, of Dearborn, Michigan, formerly of Walker, Ky., passed away April 1, 2018 at the Dearborn Heights Nursing Home.
She was born on July 1, 1942 to the late Richard and Rosie Messer Cox at Walker, Ky. She is survived by her son, Gordon Allen Hanner of Dearborn, Mich.; three sisters: Troy Sylvia Roark of Taylor, Mich., Tressie Stewart of Knox County, and Chelsie Frederick Rice and husband Larkin of Turkey Creek Road in Knox County; two brothers: Jimmy Cox of Turkey Creek Road in Knox County, and John Cox and wife Sallie of Hinkle, Ky. She is also survived by three special nieces: Sandy Roark, Karen Farris and Linda Brady, all of Michigan, who were her loving companions in the last days of her life. She is also survived by two uncles: Calvin Cox of Bell County, and Robert Messer Jr. of Knox County, and many loving nieces and nephews to mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Hanner, and long-time companion Fleet Clinkscales of Michigan; one sister, Myrtle Marie Cunningham of Nashville, Tenn., and two brothers, Robert (Bob) Cox and Bill Cox of Callebs Creek; four brothers-in-law: Glen Frederick of Knox County, Homer Roark of Knox County, Wilbur Cunningham of Nashville, Tenn., and Laymon Stewart of Bell Co.
She will be cremated, and her remains will be placed in the Woodmere Cemetery in Detroit, Mich. at a later date.
