Jonathan Drue Anderson age 40, of Barbourville, was born on November 22, 1977 in Corbin, Kentucky. He was the son of John Edward Anderson and Deborah Cole Anderson. Jonathan passed away at his home in Lexington, Tuesday, April 24, 2018. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a graduate of the Barbourville High School and Transylvania University in Lexington, where he received his Business Degree. Jonathan was a Defense Contractor for the Lockheed-Martin Company. He was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents, Charles G. Cole and Gene Tye Cole; his Paternal Grandparents, Joseph Platt Anderson and Esther Rebecca Henderson Anderson; Aunts, Margaret Large, Catherine Anderson, Dorothy Polston and Sarah Rhegness and Uncles, Joseph Samuel Anderson, James Large and Robert Polston.
Jonathan is survived by his loving parents; John and Debby Anderson of Barbourville; his sister; Holly Phillips and husband, Mark of Durham, North Carolina; his aunts, Penelope (Penny) Grady and husband, Jerry of North Bend, Washington; Elizabeth Anderson of Knoxville, Tennessee; his uncle, Thomas Charles (Tommy) Cole of Lakeworth, Florida; his nieces, Lila Mims and Maggie Hayes and many dear cousins and friends.
There will be a Memorial Service conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Bill Hughes and Jason Penn officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home Saturday after 1:00 pm until the Memorial Service at 3:00 pm. The Anderson Family have suggested contributions may be made to the Donnie Lawson Scholarship Fund at Union College in Memory of Jonathan Drue Anderson. Hopper Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
