Juvenile tied up and held; four arrested for imprisonment

For suspects were arrested for allegedly tying a juvenile to a chair and and holding him against his will.

According to KSP Public Information Officer Shane Jacobs, 18-year old Hunter West, 36-year-old Edward Murphy, 30-year-old Sharon Newmon, all of Barbourville, and 40-year-old Melissa Mills of Artemus, all were arrested and charged with first-degree unlawful imprisonment.

According to Jacobs, KSP Post 10 received a call that a 12-year-old boy had been tied up and held against his will at a neighbor’s residence. Preliminary investigations show that the juvenile was bound to a chair by several individuals. After a brief moment, the victim was able to escape and return home.

The juvenile received minor injuries that did not require treatment.

Trooper Russell Maynard is continuing the investigation.
