KCHS students hospitalized after illegal drug reactions

Knox County High School officials have confirmed that two students were hospitalized today after having a bad reaction to a drug sold to them on school property.

Dante Brown, 18, of Barbourville, and a juvenile were arrested for drug trafficking at the high school.

Brown was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance and trafficking with 1,000 feet of a school. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

The juvenile was transported to the Adair Youth Development Center.

Detective Steve Owens, Barbourville Police Department, is in charge of the ongoing investigation.
