The Knox Central High School Boys Soccer Team fell to North Laurel three to zero on their home field Thursday night. The Jaguars started off strong, scoring two goals within the first few minutes of the game.
The Panthers shook off their nerves and stepped up their passing game to create several opportunities to score, but they just couldn’t finish. Knox Central high pressured on defense and prevented North Laurel from scoring any more goals up until the end of the game. The Jaguars chipped the ball up and over the Panther’s keeper into the goal, making the final score of the game North Laurel: 3 Knox Central: 0.
Knox Central Head Coach Michael Poff confirmed what everyone in the stands saw, “What really hurt us was the bad start. We gave up two really easy goals.” The boys didn’t hang their heads and Coach Poff shared, “I feel that after those two goals we really turned it on. We really looked like a team that’s supposed to be out there competing. We played a good team though, they set up well defensively.”
Knox Central will be playing at Whitley County Tuesday night at six o’ clock.
