Knox School District fails financial transparency

While over 50% of all state tax revenue goes to fund education, the Knox County School district has not disclosed to the public, as required by law, how they spent their share of our tax dollars during the 2017/2018 school year.

On Thursday, August 2, 2018 the Knox County Public Schools ran an advertisement, as required by law, in this newspaper. The ad stated the district’s required financial disclosure forms were “available for view” on the Knox County website. The ad further gave directions to finding the financial reports on line.  The problem - the web page their instructions direct you to does not exist.
