On Saturday, Nov. 7, Kentucky State Police, Post 10 Harlan hosted a Heroes Supporting Heroes 5K Run/Walk in Middlesboro. The event was led by Tpr. George Howard’s wife, Samantha Howard. Samantha began the idea after KSP Tpr. Joseph Ponder was killed in the line of duty on Sept. 13, 2015, in Western Kentucky. Dispatchers, troopers and their families rallied around her and made the event a success. Post 10 was able to raise $3,661 for the Supporting Heroes Foundation, which supports law enforcement, fire fighters, and E.M.S. workers killed in the line of duty in Kentucky and Indiana.

Kentucky State Police Post 10 would like to thank the 59 individuals who participated in the event. KSP would also like to thank the sponsors and the local communities for their assistance.
