Knox County KCEOC has begun its annual Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) this month.
With the change of weather comes high utility bills. For some Knox County residents, paying the difference can become a challenge. KCEOC Community Action Partnership offers some relief to those affected. If eligible, KCEOC provides residents with cash grants and energy assistance for utility bills for the duration of the winter within 48 hours of acceptance.
Due to limited funds, only enough assistance will be provided to sustain the applicant through the crisis.
KCEOC will also provide other benefits, such as free heating oil, loan of space heaters, blankets or sleeping bags and, if necessary, placing people in an emergency shelter.
