Lynn Camp top-scoring softball team in Region 13 at mid-season

Despite a pair of recent losses, the Lynn Camp Lady Cats remain the top-scoring team in the 13th Region as the season reaches the mid-way point.

Lynn Camp has scored a total of 173 runs through 18 games, an average of nearly 10 runs per contest. South Laurel is second with 142 runs in 21 games. Only five teams have topped 100 runs thus far.

Lynn Camp led the 13th Region in total runs scored each of the past two seasons, including a school-record 363 in 2016. The Lady Cats are the only team in the 13th Region to reach the 300-run plateau in either season.

Lynn Camp also leads the 51st District in wins with 11. The rest of the 51st District, which includes Knox Central, Barbourville and Pineville, have a combined six wins between them.

Knox Central, however, currently owns the top seed in the 51st District with wins over both Lynn Camp and Barbourville. The second seed currently belongs to Barbourville, which beat Lynn Camp just this week. Lynn Camp currently sits in the third seed, with Pineville fourth.
