A three-vehicle collision Wednesday afternoon sent one Barbourville man to the hospital.
Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan received a call about 12:44 p.m. concerning a wreck at the intersection of U.S. 25E and KY 1304 in the Bimble community, just past Knox Central High School.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2011 silver Jeep, operated by Clarence Howard, 43 of Barbourville, attempted to make a left turn onto U.S. 25E South from KY 1304. Howard’s Jeep pulled into the path of a 2004 white Ford van, operated by Jeffery Wright of London, who was headed north on U.S. 25E.
After Wright’s van struck the Jeep in the driver’s side, it then struck a 1997 green GMC. The GMC was stopped, waiting for a turn onto KY 1304.
Howard suffered serious injuries in the crash, and was transported to Barbourville ARH Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The investigation is ongoing by KSP Trooper Jay Sowders, and was assisted at the scene by Troopers Chad Gregory and Kelly Farris, Knox County EMS and the Barbourville Fire Department.
