Men’s and Women’s Swimming Ranked in NAIA Coaches’ Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Union College men’s and women’s swimming teams are ranked in the first NAIA Swimming and Diving Coaches Poll of the 2014-15 season, the organization announced Thursday. The men come in ranked seventh while the women are ranked sixth.

The Bulldog men are off to a 6-2 start in their meets and finished third out of sixth teams in the Union College Winter Invitational.

The women are off to one of the best starts in school history going 6-2 and finishing third out of eight teams in the Union College Winter Invitational while controlling most of the top times in the Appalachian Swimming Conference.

The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches from the NAIA Swimming & Diving Coaches Association. The rating was expanded to 10 teams beginning this season. The second Top 10 poll will be released on Jan. 22.

Union will be back in the pool Jan. 31 with a double-dual meet against West Virginia Tech and Fairmont State (W.Va.).
