The Knox County Sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s help in catching a thief. On Dec. 15 at approximately 12:30 p.m., Deputy Claude Hudson responded to a homeowner’s burglar alarm on KY 229 near the Laurel /Knox county line.

Deputy Hudson and the homeowner’s son viewed the home’s video surveillance. The video recorded a white older male, approximately 6 foot 2 inches tall and weighing around 200 pounds, break into the residence and leave with items from the home.

The surveillance video shows the suspect driving a newer model Chevy Silverado and headed down Hwy 229 towards Barbourville.

Neither the victim, nor the victim’s son, recognized the burglar or the vehicle.

Officers are continuing to investigate leads in the case.
