After a venue and time change, the numbers don’t lie: this year’s Fish Fry and Relay for Life events were one of the biggest Knox County has seen.
Events kicked off on April 27 with Clerk Mike Corey’s annual Fish Fry at 5 p.m. Completely free to the public, Corey and a team of people spent the afternoon leading up to Relay feeding those in attendance, over 2,000 people, catfish and all the fixin’s. Compared to past events, the most Corey stated he has ever fed at the event was 1,200.
“I just like giving something back,” said Corey.
