Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith is reporting the following Enforcement Actions:

On Aug. 10, Deputy Jason Carmack investigated a traffic collision on US 25E at Bailey Switch. As a result of the investigation, Deputy Carmack arrested one of the drivers, Ryan Vaughn, age 24, of Corbin, charging him with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

On Aug. 11, Deputy Keith Liford arrested Charles Peebly, age 30, of Barbourville, on two Knox County Arrest warrants for Assault 4th Degree (2 counts), Terroristic Threatening and Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

On Aug. 11, at 10 pm Deputy Carl Frith executed two Knox County Arrest warrants on Codi Peebly after he turned himself in. The warrants were for charges of Assault 4th Degree (2 counts), Terroristic Threatening and Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center. These warrants were issued as a result of the same incident involving Charles Peebly that occurred on Aug. 7 and Aug. 10, 2015. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

On Aug. 11, Deputy Jason Carmack was advised by Knox Dispatch they had received several calls on an ATV being driven on KY 223 in the Moore Creek area, of Knox County. After arriving in the area, Deputy Carmack observed the ATV traveling on KY 233. When Deputy Carmack activated his emergency equipment the driver of the ATV refused to stop and increased his speed. Deputy Carmack pursued the ATV onto Warriors Path before getting it stopped. Deputy Carmack arrested the driver, Jason Charles McCulley, age 37, of Walker, charging him with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence and Fleeing/Evading Police 1st Degree. When they arrived at the Knox County Detention Center Jason McCulley was unresponsive due to being intoxicated and was taken to the Knox County Hospital where he was admitted.

On Aug. 13, Deputy Chad Wagner arrested Katie Saunders, age 29, of Barbourville, on a Georgia Arrest warrant for Probation Violation charges. She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

On Aug. 13, Deputy Keith Liford and Constable Reed Murphy responded to a domestic violence complaint on Gregory Lane. After Deputy Liford arrived and conducted an investigation, he arrested Alston” Juice” Southwell, age 44, of Barbourville, charging him with Assault 4th Degree, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Possession, of Controlled Substance 1st Degree and Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon. Deputy Liford also arrested Jacob Jones, age 23, of Barbourville, charging him with Public Intoxication and Possession of Controlled Substance 2nd Degree. They were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

On Aug. 13, Deputy Keith Liford arrested Marcia Drury, age 36, of Girdler, on a Bell County Bench warrant for failure to pay fines on charges, of Forgery 2nd Degree (3 counts), Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (2 counts) She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

On Aug. 13, Deputy Claude Hudson arrested Sadonia Rains, age 31, of Heidrick, on a Knox County Bench warrant for Contempt of Court on Child Support. She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

On Aug. 13, Deputy Claude Hudson arrested Jessee Terry, age 46, of Heidrick , on three Whitley County Arrest warrants for failure to pay fines on charges, of Public Intoxication, Prescription Controlled Substance not in Original Container (2 counts) and several Traffic Violations. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

On Aug. 13, Deputy Claude Hudson arrested Jim Smith, age 23, of Lily, on a Knox County Bench warrant for Disorderly Conduct 2nd Degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree and Wanton Endangerment 2nd Degree. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

On Aug. 14, Knox County Court Security Officer Robert Lewis executed an Knox County Arrest warrant on Deanna Howard, age 34, of Flat Lick, for Terroristic Threatening. She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

On Aug. 14, Deputy Keith Liford arrested Tammy Smith, age 40, of Flat Lick, on a Knox County Bench warrant for failure to pay fines on charges of Disregarding Stop Sign, No Insurance, Failure to Wear Seat Belts and No Registration Receipt. She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

On Aug. 15, Deputy Carl Frith responded to a call of subjects fighting at a residence on C Mills Road in Hinkle. Deputy Frith arrested Rebecca Smith, age 36, of Barbourville, for Public Intoxication/Controlled Substance. She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

On Aug. 15, Deputy Mikey Ashurst received a call of a female causing a disturbance at a residence on KY 1304 in Girdler. When Deputy Ashurst arrived at the residence, he observed a female lying in the front yard. He arrested Angela Abner, age 42, of Girdler, for Public Intoxication. She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center

On Aug. 15, at 12:28 am, Deputy Mikey Ashurst observed a vehicle being operated in a reckless manner on US 25E near Gray. After stopping the vehicle, Deputy Ashurst arrested the driver, Jerry Hensley, age 43, of Gray, for Reckless Driving, DUI, Expired Plates and Driving on Suspended/Revoked License. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center

On Aug. 15, 2015at 3 am, Deputy Mikey Ashurst was dispatched to a complaint of an intoxicated person in the parking lot of the Wildcat Market in Flat Lick. After Deputy Ashurst contacted the person, he arrested Darcy Collins, age 39, of Middlesboro, for Public Intoxication. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center

On Aug. 15, Deputy Mikey Ashurst received a complaint,of a vehicle traveling from Barbourville toward Corbin on US 25 E. The caller advised the vehicle was all over the roadway. Deputy Ashurst located the vehicle and arrested the driver, Cody Pace, age 20, of Lexington, for Reckless Driving, DUI, No Operators License and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center

On Aug. 16, Deputy Sidney Wagner arrested Samantha Weddle, age 31, of Gray, on a Knox County Indictment warrant for Rape 3rd Degree (2 counts) Unlawful Transaction with a Minor 1st (2 counts) and Sodomy 3rd Degree (2 counts). She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
