Officials at the National Weather Service say periods of snow showers, coupled with high winds, could make for treacherous driving this afternoon and evening.
According to NWS forecasters, the snow showers will linger until around midnight, but should taper off to flurries by around 8 or 9 p.m. tonight.
They say winds could gust as high as 35 miles per hour, making for dangerous driving for high profile vehicles.
At 5:15 p.m. and band of heavy snow moved across Barbourville and Knox County.
NWS officials say overnight temperatures could dip as low as 19 degrees.
