The inaugural Big Dill Pickleball Tournament brought competitive play and community spirit to the Barbourville City Park courts on Saturday, Aug. 17.
The event featured women’s, men’s and mixed divisions, with players battling through fast-paced rallies and strong serves.
In the women’s division, Nadia Smith and Jaylynn Fain finished first, followed by Sarah Wahlstedt and Lydia Nash in second. The mixed division champions were Fred and Leah, with Garrison and Kendra taking second place. In the men’s division, Fred and Jon captured first, while Coty and Alex placed second.
The tournament marked Barbourville’s first organized pickleball competition. Organizers said another event is planned for October at the same venue.
