LeRoy “Dusty” Yates, 98, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Christian Health Care Center in Corbin, Kentucky. Born May 28, 1928, in Corbin, he was the son of the late Albert and Lola Yates.
Dusty was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
In addition to his father and mother, Dusty was preceded in death by his first wife, Billie Robinson Yates; his second wife, Ruth Pollitt Yates; siblings: Elizabeth McKeehan, Mazie Rogers, Leonard Yates, William C. Yates, Martha Campbell, Clyde Yates, Opal Russell, Dwight Glen Yates, and Wilma Yates.
Survivors include his son, Ron Hacker (Martha); two grandchildren: Rhonda Aldaboos (Abdulla) and David Hacker (Carolee); five great-grandchildren: Khalid Aldaboos, Ahmad Aldaboos, Rashid Aldaboos, Ibrahim Aldaboos, and Holden Blankenship (Ryan); great-great-grandchild, Bentley Blankenship; niece, Polly Chiari (Bill); nephew, Pete Yates (Gail); nephew, Jeff Hacker (Pam), along with many other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 10, 2026, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Kenneth Yates officiating. Entombment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery with Jeff Hacker, David Hacker, Dwayne Yates, Jeff Yates, Trysten Yates, and Zak Hodge Yates serving as pallbearers. Military honors will be conducted by the D.A.V. Chapter 158.
The family will receive friends from 12 – 2:00 P.M. Monday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.
