The Barbourville Super Dollar presented Kentucky Harvest Southeast a check Tuesday in the amount of $1,184.21 to help provide food to those in need.
“This money comes from our Race Against Hunger” program we collected in 2013,” said Store Manager Shawn Black. “This is all about the community giving back. It is a combination of donations both from our employees and our customers.”
Kentucky Harvest Southeast officials said the money would be spent in Super Dollar for the Flat Lick Elementary Backpack Club.
Steve Partin, Principal at Flat Lick Elementary, will be visiting Super Dollar to select the food that the school’s students can take home on weekends.
Kentucky Harvest Southeast wishes to thank Super Dollar and Food City Corporation for their continued support of helping those in need.
