The splendor of spring!

I knew that spring had come again when I awoke today and heard the chirping of the birds from trees across the way. Spring returns and the entire world looks bright…spring flowers are kisses given by God, beautiful splashes of color from little pods to remind us how precious life is. Take time to enjoy the splendor of SPRING.

Millie’s memories; The return of spring comes to grandma’s garden. To my mind there is no season as beautiful as spring. There are so many childhood memories and experiences that left lasting imprints to be recalled when I sit down to write. For as long as I can remember, spring brought wonder and excitement to me.

As a child, my playground was the pasture and fields behind our house. I lived out of doors and was in tune with nature’s gifts. My best friends were the birds, the flowers and plants that grew wild around the lane. I was lost in my imagination world.

Do you remember as a child experiencing the sight of a starry night? Is there one that stands out in your mind? Well I sure do. It filled me with wonder and was only the beginning of a life-long love affair with the evening sky. It was never confirmed to me by anything said, but I knew at a very young age that the lane was only a small part of the universe.

Even then, some inner knowledge told me that the lane would not always be my world. In the spring when butterflies flew into grandma’s flower garden, I was sure her garden was a special place. I was lost in my imagination each time spring returned to the lane.

These many years later when spring arrives after a long cold winter, it is like a reunion of old friends from long ago who wake to the robin thrilling its song.

Millie’s quote for today: Flowers are sunshine, food and medicine to the soul. Flowers are words, which even a young child can understand.
