BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – The Union College baseball team pulled away in the late innings in a pair of games over Asbury (Ky.) at frigid Jerry Carey Stadium on Tuesday, sweeping a doubleheader against the visiting Eagles by scores of 6-1 and 10-2.
With the results, Union improved to 2-3 on the young season, while Asbury fell to 0-6 with the pair of losses.
Game One – Union 6, Asbury 1
In the first game, the Bulldogs manufactured six runs and used strong pitching from a pair of arms to take a five-run victory, locking up their first win of the 2015 season in the process.
Game Two – Union 10, Asbury 2
The bats finally started to heat up for the Bulldogs in the later innings of game two, as Union exploded for 10 runs on 12 hits to pull away from the Eagles. Up Next
Union returns to action this weekend against Concordia (Mich.) in a scheduled four-game series. Game one is scheduled for Friday, with first pitch coming at 1 p.m. from Jerry Carey Stadium.
