KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Union College women’s soccer player Helen Weber (SR/Marburg, Germany) has been named a 2014 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete, the organization announced Friday.
Weber joins a group of 578 student-athletes named 2014 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Indiana Wesleyan and Marian (Ind.) led all programs with 11 individuals on the list apiece.
In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
Weber, a senior forward, started all 17 matches for the Bulldogs during the 2014 season. She finished the season with six goals, two assists and 14 points. Weber also contributed two game winning goals on the season. She appeared in 71 career games for the Bulldogs and finished with 35 goals, which ranks 11th in school history. An Sociology and International Business major, Weber boasts a 3.68 GPA.
