It’s been a positive year at Lynn Camp, from the new head coaches to the brand new farm for the agriculture department, one could say that Lynn Camp is stepping up their game. This also goes for The Lynn Camp cheerleading team who have been showing improvement.

“This year was our first time attending UK’s cheer camp and proud would be an understatement,” said Elvenia Boggs, Lynn Camp cheer head coach. “We brought home two excellent ribbons, one superior ribbon, a spirit stick and we placed four fourth in Blue Cheer.”

The girls spent four days at camp, and came away with a new focus and techniques for stunting, squad cheer material, and most importantly confidence that they can compete with anyone else.

“For the first time in history of Lynn Camp, we now have competition mats for our girls to work on,” said Boggs. “Without the constant support from our administration and community this couldn’t have happened.”

With good things happening for LC Cheer before the season even starts, Boggs feels confident that the girls can achieve their goals this year.

“My goal for this year’s squad is to enjoy what they are doing, compete, do what they know they can do, and make memories that will last a lifetime,” said Boggs. “Each one of my girls have a special talent and I don’t want any of them to feel inferior just because were a smaller school, it doesn’t mean we can’t be champions.”
