A Corbin woman was struck and killed in the Corbin Master Street McDonalds parking lot Monday afternoon.
Kentucky State Police say a black Ford F-150 pickup, driven by Aaron Potter, 19, of Corbin, was traveling on Commonwealth Avenue and then pulled into the parking lot of McDonalds at a high rate of speed. The pickup then struck Norma Hicks, 66, of Parkers Lake as she exited the restaurant.
Hicks was pronounced dead at the scene by the Knox County Deputy Coroner Floyd Blevins.
The 19-year-old driver of the truck was not injured in the collision. The driver was taken to Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin for a blood test. No charges have been filed at this time.
The collision is still under investigation by KSP Accident Reconstructionist Mike Cornett.
