Posted

An event celebrating Autism Awareness Month was held from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, March 28 at Thompson Park in Barbourville. The event was hosted by Torri Jackson and Brandie Frost.
The afternoon-long event offered something for nearly everyone, including a jump center with two bounce houses, food trucks, craft tables, photos with the Easter bunny and other fun activities. Community resource tables were made available, including a therapy office, medical waiver offices, and a lot of sensory items and toys were given out.
Mayor David Thompson signed a proclamation claiming April 2026 as “Autism Acceptance Month” in the City of Barbourville.
