The application covers an area that is located approximately 1.0 mile northeast of Ky 1809 intersection with Hubbs Creek Road and approximately 0.01 miles west of Hubbs Creek in Knox County, Kentucky. The operation is further located approximately 0.5 miles northeast of the community of Bryants Store, Kentucky. The bond now in effect is follows:
INC-1 Surety Bond in the amount of $80,000.00. Approximately 60% of the original bond amount of $80,000.00 is included in this application for release.
Reclamation work performed includes Backfilling, re-grading, topsoil replacement, and drainage control including soil preparation and initial seeding and mulching in accordance with the approved reclamation plan was completed 06/05/2026.

In accordance with the provisions of KRS 350:055, notice is hereby given that Binderless Coal Briquetting Company Pty Limited, Lobby 1, Level 2, 76 Skyring Terrace, Newstead, AU 4006, has applied for a renewal to an existing coal mining operation. The operation consists of a coal processing facility (including crushers, belts, and a coal washer), underground mining and a refuse disposal area, affecting 48.7 acres located approximately 3.1 miles south of the community of Bryant’s Store in Knox County.
The proposed operation is approximately 0.05 miles northwest of KY 1809’s junction with Davis Branch Road, and 0.05 miles west of Indian Gap
The proposed operation is located on the Frakes USGS 7½ minute quadrangle map. The surface area to be disturbed is owned by Charlisa Stewart and the operation will affect an area within 100 feet of Kentucky Route 1809. The operation will not involve relocation and\or closure of the public road.
The renewal application has been filed for public inspection at the Department for Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement’s Middlesboro Regional Office, 1804 E, Cumberland Avenue, Middlesboro, KY 40965.
